The Toyota 86 / Subaru BRZ is one of those cars that really made a strong presence in 2013. So it’s no surprise that we’ve seen various iterations of it during the recently concluded Manila Auto Salon. And from what we’ve gathered and observed, apart from slapping on a set of aftermarket wheels, there are now so many ways to spice it up and make it look even cooler!
Check out what we think are 3 more ways to make your Toyota 86, Subaru BRZ, or Scion FR-S look more awesome…

1. Custom Lights. While this may be a subtle change to the untrained eye, to the aficionado, small details like these matter. Some would get by with turning the Park Lights into Daytime Running Lights, while others would want a bit more – such as Red Tail Lights. While the stock tail lights look fancy in red and white, depending on the color of the car, an all-red tail light would make it blend and flow better.
2. Carbon Fiber. Who doesn’t love carbon fiber? The 86 is a sports car after all, so why not make it look sporty! Nothing defines a sports car more than carbon fiber. It’s just one of those defining factors of a car that can go at speed. So while you can keep the bumpers stock, you can add a carbon fiber front and rear lip to it, with some carbon fiber skirts to match! If you want more, feel free to add a carbon fiber hood, trunk, and spoiler. Then finish if off with carbon fiber fender ducts.
3. Body Kit. One sure fire way to stand out from the rest of the 86′s out there is a body kit. With the immense popularity of the 86/BRZ/FR-S, there are so many body kits you can choose from to suit your fancy. Here are 3 examples which we’ve seen at the Manila Auto Salon.
The Abflug MiJ Spiral 86. This design seems to blend nicely with the organic lines of the 86, while giving it a sharp and striking look that means business.
The Tommy Kaira 86. Instead of going the race car-look route, you can go with something that’s more of VIP-style inspired. The Tommy Kaira kit blends together a traditional front grille inspired from some of the current Toyota designs, together with unique design elements that you would only see in a car developed by Tommy Kaira.
Before you stop and think that the three cars above, as seen in the Autoline Motorsports booth at the Manila Auto Salon, are as wild as you can go, there is one kit that’s arguably the wildest of them all.
The Rocket Bunny 86. We consider it to be the wildest because you can’t just go out, buy a kit, and bolt it onto your car. It involves a lot of work, including fender trimming to fit those super wide arches – something not every 86/BRZ/FR-S owner would be willing to go through. Because once you go Rocket Bunny, you can never go back.
But hey, you have to pay to play right? And when it comes making an 86/BRZ/FR-S stand out, nothing looks downright as cool as a Rocket Bunny 96.
